This is a pay-as-you-go program designed for figure skating practice only. You must be a Skate Canada member. Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a Skate Canada Coach.
Fee for skaters is $11.90 (including tax). Admission is free for coaches accompanying their skaters. Those wishing to purchase a 10-pass can call the Ajax Community Centre at 905-427-8811.
Please Note: Regular skating schedule will be disrupted due to holidays, special events, March Break or programs. Ticket Ice will not run on March 27, February 13 and February 14.

Program Descriptions
Adult Skate
A leisure skate for adults 18+. Unsupervised. Helmets are highly recommended. CSA approved skating aids are permitted.
Adult Sledge
Adult Sledge is an exciting sport for people of all abilities. Sledges can be specially adapted to meet the needs of each player. Full hockey equipment is required.
Adult Stick & Puck
Practice the fundamentals of hockey, shooting, passing and stick handling. Unsupervised. Scrimmages and goalies are not permitted. A CSA approved hockey helmet is required.
Adult & Ladies Shinny
A pay-as-you play program for adults 18+. Two Goalies play for free. Referees are not provided. Unsupervised. Full hockey equipment is required. Ladies Only Shinny — for women only. No males permitted.
Youth & Girls Only Shinny
An Informal game of pick-up hockey. Full hockey equipment is required. All players must provide their grade as of September 2025 at time of payment, wrist bands will be issued and must be worn as proof of payment to enter the ice surface. Girls Only Shinny — for girls only. No males permitted.
Parent & Tot
Leisure skate for parents with children aged 5 years of age and younger. Parents must accompany their children on the ice wearing skates. Helmets are highly recommended. CSA approved skating aids are permitted.
Ticket Ice

Outdoor Skating at Pat Bayly Square
Call 365-885-3848 to check rink status before heading out to skate.
- Hours of operation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Indoor washroom access and change rooms are available.
- Participants are encouraged to park in the north parking lot at the Ajax Community Centre (75 Centennial Rd.).
- Helmets not required but highly recommended.
- Inclement weather may result in cancellations or delays for snow clearing.
- Skating is only permitted during scheduled hours.
- Only certified skating aids are permitted on the ice. You must bring your own. The use of strollers, chairs or other non-certified skating aids is not allowed.
Rink Rules
- Skating on the ice is done at your own risk.
- Skate in the direction or flow of the other patrons.
- Children 10 and under must be directly supervised by a parent/guardian 16 years of age or older.
- Hockey/ringette is not permitted on the ice.
- No one is permitted on the ice without skates.
- Food & beverages are not permitted on the ice.
- Smoking/vaping is prohibited.
- No dogs or pets on the ice.
- The Town of Ajax is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Please refrain from the following on ice surfaces:
- Tag, horseplay, spraying or throwing of snow/ice.
- Backward, figure skating or speed skating
- Use of strollers, chairs or other non-certified skating aids.
- Carrying babies or children.
- Use of hockey sticks, pucks, nets or other sporting equipment.
- Entering the ice surface while it is being flooded.
Arena Rentals
The Town of Ajax has one Arena at the Ajax Community Centre with ice available to rent year-round. Rent one of the four ice pads during the winter season for pick-up hockey or ringette, sledge hockey, birthday parties, figure skating practices, hockey or ringette schools & camps and shinny (limited). Or rent the arena floor surface in the summer months for lacrosse, trade shows, events or camps.
Skating Safety
For your safety, please do not skate on ponds and other open bodies of water in parks.
- Public Skate, Adult Skate and Parent & Tot: Helmets not required but highly recommended. CSA approved skating aids are permitted.
- Adult Shinny, Ladies Shinny and Adult Sledge Hockey: Full hockey equipment is required.
- Adult Stick ‘n’ Puck: CSA approved hockey helmet is required.
