Membership Types and Fees
All membership fees are contained in the Town’s Fee By-Law, approved each year by Town Council.
The Membership Fees listed below are effective from January 1 to December 31, 2026.

The Grade 5 Action Pass gives all Grade 5 students in Durham Region access to free public swimming, free public skating and free drop-in programs (programs vary by recreation centre).
Getting your Grade 5 Action Pass is Easy
- 1Beginning September 2, 2025, visit any Town of Ajax community recreation centre (Ajax Community Centre, Audley Recreation Centre, or McLean Community Centre) or any participating recreation centre in Durham Region. For a full list visit: durham.ca/physicalactivity
- Bring proof of address and student’s date of birth.
- Use your pass, as often as you want, at any of the participating recreation centres from September 2, 2025 to September 6, 2026.

Membership Regulations
Review the guidelines below to make the most of your membership and help ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for all members.
- Members can bring new guests for free. Subsequent visits will require a fee. Members can bring as many new guests as they would like.
- Members receive one free month on their current membership for each new annual membership referral. E.g. Refer four new members, receive four free months on your membership.
- Passes can be put on hold as follows:
- Medical Hold: Memberships can be placed on hold for medical reasons. Please speak with a Customer Service Representative to complete this process. A Doctor’s note is required to reactivate your membership and the medical note shall state the time-period that you were unable to participate in physical activity to ensure we provide the exact amount of days back to your membership.
- Personal Holds: Annual memberships can be put on hold for a minimum of 30 consecutive days to a maximum of 90 consecutive days; one hold per membership term.
- Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) monthly membership payments will continue during the membership holds. Upon reactivation, the membership will be extended for the time that it was placed on hold.
- Memberships are not transferable.
- Annual membership terms can be cancelled at any time. A fee of $22.90 + HST applies for cancellations.
- The Town is not responsible for lost or stolen items. All valuables should be locked in a locker with a strong lock that you provide. Lockers are for day use only. Locks left longer than 24 hours will be cut off.
- Gym bags are to be stored in the change room. (Ajax FHC provides storage cubbies as well).
- Centres are fragrance-free spaces. Please respect those with allergies and breathing conditions.
- Individuals found to be abusing privileges or not following posted rules may have their pass privileges revoked (at the discretion of staff).
- All hours of operation are subject to change.
- Please note: The Fitness & Health Centre at the Ajax Community Centre operates on reduced weekend hours during July & August. Pool schedules are subject to change due to holidays, special events or programs. Community Centres are closed on most statutory holidays. Facility hours of operation differ between facilities. We reserve the right to close each facility for up to two weeks for annual pool maintenance.
- The membership areas have been secured for your benefit. Please do not allow other individuals to access this area when you open the entrance door with your security card.
Membership photo ID/security cards are to be used by the pass holder only. - Youth (13-15 yrs.) may purchase a membership after having successfully completed the Teen Weight Training Certificate Program.
- Use of saunas, whirlpool (MCC) and pools apply to public and lane swim times. Saunas are dry – adding water to the sauna causes accelerated wearing of the heating elements. This adds costs and service disruptions for all members. Please do not apply water.
- Lost membership/access cards must be reported immediately, and a replacement card will be issued at a cost of $10.70 (+HST).
