Program provided by Community Care Durham. Weekly delivery of affordable, tasty and nutritious hot and frozen meals.

Senior meal delivery service. Choose from over 200 delicious frozen meals and desserts.

Program provided by Community Care Durham. Weekly delivery of essential grocery supplies (e.g. eggs & dairy, bread, fruits & vegetables, etc.).

Shoppers Drug Mart

Contact local pharmacy for delivery services:

Provide snow removal services for seniors and persons with a disability. Eligibility requirements. Fee for service.

Serves exclusively senior customers to provide a range of home maintenance services including: snow removal, yard work, house painting, home repairs and modifications, window washing, tree trimming, etc. Fee for service.

Services may include:

  • laundry & ironing
  • changing beds
  • light housework such as vacuuming/dusting, meal preparation, etc.
  • Fee for service

Home Instead Senior Care

HomeWell Care Services

Supports large-scale renovations and retrofits to help make homes and/or vehicles more accessible for persons with a disability which impacts their mobility and daily function.

Offer payment arrangements for customers who have difficulty paying their water bill. Can extend the date on the bill for customers 60 years of age or older.

The Regional Municipality of Durham – Finance Department

Offers customers 65 years or older the option to pay monthly gas bills when pension cheque is received with no late penalty charged.

Provides monthly on-bill credits for eligible low-income customers to reduce their electricity bills.

Credit provided to help low to moderate income Ontario residents with the sales tax on energy and with property taxes. The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) administers this program for Ontario.

One-time grant toward electricity or natural gas bill for those facing service shut off.

Community Development Council Durham

Help to offset property taxes for seniors who own their own home and who have low to moderate incomes. The Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) administers this program for Ontario.

Provides a tax credit of up to $10,000 in home renovation expenses that improve safety and accessibility for seniors (65 years or older), or those living with senior relatives.
